Day 152 | Sunday

Annetta | I spent my Sunday working to finish a deadline for work. I managed to finish it and bake a cake too!

Stephanie | Spent the day cleaning up and running errands. Tried to find a part for our water pump, but was unsuccessful.

Day 151 | Saturday

Stephanie | Harvested the first zucchini of the year. Today was supposed to be a lot more productive, but we all were pretty beat from our time in Lincoln yesterday and from being woken by a massive thunderstorm early this morning. We managed to tidy the house a bit and rest. Hoping tomorrow is better.

Annetta | We went to Nitra where my husband's family lives to celebrate the niece's birthday we missed last month. It takes us an hour to get there. Picking fresh strawberries from the in-law's strawberries patch was the best. Soon there will be cherries.

Day 150 | Friday

Annetta | Today's photoshoot was in Old Town and it didn't rain!! Most of the people I photograph are people I've never met so it's always a fun way to meet new people. Today I met 4 wonderful ladies from various parts of the world.

Stephanie | Spent 5 hours waiting for our car to get new tires and an oil change. The shop is an hour away, so we spent the day killing time. We shopped a bit for decor for the kids room, had a picnic at the park with some tree climbing, and found the most charming book store.

Day 149 | Thursday

Stephanie | Finishing up the last bit of school work today and we will be done for the year. The last day of school is not technically until next Thursday, but all work must be turned in on Monday. Since we have an appointment scheduled tomorrow, I figured we would get it done and over today.

Annetta | I had a photo shoot today with two sisters at my flat. The house wasn't cleaned in time and I chose not to be embarrassed over my messy house. As a working mom who is homeschooling and cooking all of our meals there are just some things I have to let go of.

148 | Wednesday

Annetta | Another 12 hour workday for me and a couple more to go. The glamourous life of a photographer is spent hours behind the computer editing. I still love it.

Stephanie | Just trying to play catch up. Schoolwork, housework, it all gets out of control especially when you have big projects that take all your time.

Day 147 | Tuesday

Stephanie | After a long weekend of painting, miscellaneous projects and a very late night, its a lounging in bed kind of day.

Annetta | I started working at 9 am and finished at 9pm. It's been a full day tutoring, photographing, and editing. Tomorrow I take a day off from photography work because I worked through the weekend. My models were so wonderful today.

Day 146 | Monday

Annetta | Did a little bit of photography work, well a lot of it actually. I spent my day booking three photoshoots for this week, creating moodboards for the models, and also took a few pictures of myself.

Stephanie | It's Memorial Day and Aloni is sleeping on my Americana quilt top. Seems fitting for today.

Day 145 | Sunday

Stephanie | My first ever dahlia bloomed. I was so excited to plant these bulbs in the garden, I have loved them for so long but never had any of my own. I planted them so quickly that I didn't even realize they would be this deep purple color, I thought I only had yellow. So I was extra happy.

Annetta | Sunday's have been emotionally challenging around here sometimes. This Sunday was one of those days, but we headed to the park with our church family which helped a lot.

Day 144 | Saturday

Annetta | I have mixed feelings about being my own model for my photography work. At moments I think I am getting too old, but then it pushes me to see myself in a different light. This morning I worked on some stock photography shoots of myself and don't hate them.

Stephanie | We were able to get over to Home Depot early this morning, before the line outside formed. Was able to get all the painting supplies we need to paint the kids room. I also found a huge rose plant for only $15 and a large houseplant that was wrongfully labeled for only $5. I was super excited. I got some good work done on painting the trim today.

Day 143 | Friday

Stephanie | Today was a pretty crappy day. It started off bad and just got worse. I was really hoping to spend the long weekend painting and redecorating the kids room. But the family doesn't feel the same sense of urgency and I do. And we are still waiting on our tax return and stimulus check. I feel all we have done this whole quarantine is wait. Waiting on something to ship/deliver and all the waiting pushes everything else back further and further. I'm really getting tired of all the waiting, I want to do things now.

Annetta | Worked in my garden today. I needed to finish planting some window boxes that I have been avoiding for many days. Also, my husband finished the second set of rose boxes today. Tomorrow we get David Austin roses for them.

Day 142 | Thursday

Annetta | I all of a sudden am full of life and energy. Now I have too much I want to do and too little time. I actually prefer this over what I've left like the past couple of weeks.

Stephanie | Quick little trip to the garden tonight with my Sawyer.

Day 141 | Wednesday

Stephanie | Got to so some sewing on my Americana quilt today. Also worked on homework and some chores around the house.

Annetta | I worked on knitting my new summer tee. I want to finish it by Saturday or else it might never get done. The good news is I am halfway through the pattern after two days.

Day 140 | Tuesday

Annetta | My son and I took the tram into old town today for the first time in months. Our lockdown has lifted and everything is opening-up. The only few rules still left is wearing a facemask indoors (stores) or when closer than 5 meters to someone, also only day trips are permitted to other countries.

Stephanie | The baby geese (Clancy {white} and Just Jack {dark}) wandered their way down to the irrigation ditch for a nice drink. They have gotten so big!

Day 139 | Monday

Stephanie | A small storm finally rolled through. We got a few drops of hail, rain and some thunder. The girls thought running through the downpour was a blast.

Annetta | I spent my evening on our terrace starting a new knit and smelling my gorgeous roses. It was so beautiful and warm out!

Day 138 | Sunday

Annetta | It's the first Sunday where we as a church are meeting together. We are meeting outside and will maintain distance, but we also had our teaching this morning online. It's a balance between the two.

Stephanie | Spent pretty much the whole day lounging in bed watching shows. Hubby worked this weekend and I had no motivation to do anything else. Its also been rainy, cold, and on the verge of a storm.

Day 137 | Saturday

Stephanie | Spent the better part of the morning planning on how we are going to redecorate the girls room. They want a jungle theme with plants everywhere and I could not be more excited.

Annetta | It was a family day for us. We went on a hike to a castle that is being restored with my husband's family. After exploring the castle we went out to eat nearby and then walked around a lake. It was a beautiful 5-mile adventure today and I am so happy.

Day 136 | Friday

Annetta | My son had an 8am checkup appointment with his pediatrician. We were up at 5:45am and out of the house at 6:30am as it's a long drive from where we used to live. It was so rainy, dreary, and yucky out, but we made it into a day trip which was fun because we don't get out of the house anymore.

Stephanie | Documenting the quarantine beard. Normally hubby is unable to grow facial hair due to the military. He didn't have to go in last month due to this COVID-19 ordeal. So he let it grow. Tomorrow he goes back to military duty, so it gets shaved off. I'm sure it'll be a while before we see him all rugged like this again.

Day 135 | Thursday

Stephanie | So in love with my garden bouquet. Today also marks 2 years since we left Washington State and moved to California.

Annetta | I made something new for dinner. Lately, that is a victory in and of itself. Also, the poppy season is here! The beautiful pops of red are everywhere.

Day 134 | Wednesday

Stephanie | Here's my photo from my mini photo shoot with Shea the other day.

Annetta | For the last 20+ years of my life I would wake up and have a cup of coffee. A couple of months ago I got a new naturopath and since then have been having a cup of hot water with lemon in the mornings plus actually drinking 6+ cups of water daily. With this new routine, I find myself forgetting to drink my coffee.

Day 133 | Tuesday

Stephanie | Fresh flowers from the garden, what could be better?? Finally getting some prettiness around the house. This place was completely bare when we moved in. I am still a long way off from my dream garden, but having some fragrant flowers to clip gives me a glimmer of hope.

Annetta | I've noticed a huge slump in my creativity. I don't photograph my day anymore, not like I used to. I've lost my eye for the beautiful moments I see and it had a lot to do with my family being home 24/7. I work my day job, cook, clean, and workout. If I have a moment I might knit or crochet a little. I'm okay with not being inspired I just miss it. Today I forced myself to do a photoshoot for my photography business.

Day 132 | Monday

Annetta | Right after work we hopped into the car this morning and went to run some errands. The libraries are finally open so my son got some new books, I went to the fabric store and we got some groceries.

Stephanie | Went to cut some roses in the yard before the rain and wind blew them apart. I brought my camera to get some pics of the blooms, but my girls wanted to take pictures. We had a quick impromptu photo shoot - no make up or nothing, just a fun moment together. Photo credit today goes to 8yr old Shea.

Day 131 | Sunday

Stephanie | Went for a little hike along the river today for Mother's Day.

Annetta | Today's Mother's Day was about ice cream and roses. My husband and I skipped our workout and went for a long walk instead.

Day 130 | Saturday

Annetta | We went on a family bike ride today for some ice cream in town. It was also after our workout in the morning which left me exhausted for the rest of the day, but worth it.

Stephanie | Stayed up way to late last night and slept most of the day.

Friday, May 8, 2020

Day 129 | Friday

Stephanie | Working in the garden, we see a hole in the potato roots. Thinking its a mole, we stab at it to eliminate the pest, when out shoots a baby bunny. Not sure if its hurt or just scared, but he is resting in a box in the garage. We will know more in the morning.

Annetta | I skipped cooking dinner and made a bunch of goodies for my family because now that I work out every single day I can finally bake again.

Day 128 | Thursday

Annetta | Today I had two breakfasts, two cups of water before noon and I forgot to drink my coffee. I remembered at 1pm and drank that coffee. Happy weekend because it's a three day weekend where I work tomorrow!

Stephanie | Harvested the first round of Beets. Looking forward to pickling these.
